Sam's birthday lunch and Stella's christening

summer time

And we are having so much fun. Stella is standing on her own, trying to walk a little, and constantly making a bee line for the stairs. We are having a good time chasing her around the house, I can tell you. Her christening will be this sunday morning, at the early service. We are all looking forward to that, because ALL of my sisters and my brother are coming to town for it. Sam loves to have his family visit.
Sam and his friend Bob have been together every day since Sunday. Wonder if they will get tired of each other any time soon? They both seem to be having a great time playing baseball, going to the neighbor's house to get the baseballs that are hit over the fence, and starting all over again. I have to admit, it does not look like fun to me.

photos yesterday

okay, for some reason, I did not put any information with those photos, and I am sorry.
-Stella went to watch Sam play at school yesterday, and had a great time-
-Sam was 'mining for gems' with his class- in his bag of gravel [ I mean 'gems' ] he found an arrow head, a shark tooth, and many VERY rare 'gems' that he wants to sell. Not gonna happen.
-I made Stella a bento box meal for the last wendesday night supper at church for the school year. She ate noodles, dried corn, banana, fruit and grain bar, and I think some pudding. I had lots of questions about the box, and I gave them all Wendy's blog address to look at for inspiration.
=The last photo is Morgan and Meredith holding Stella. They came down from Nashville the weekend we got in from China, and spent a day with us. Stella loves her cousins!

just a few recent photos-

last week of school

Whew! The last week of school! Sam had a field trip today, has field day tomorrow, and I think that will wrap it up for him. He is going to Meme's friday, so he can attend Meg's birthday party. Then he will come home for his own family birthday lunch on Sunday. Monday is another busy day, since we will be shipping him off for a full week at Camp Lake Stephens. Oh my word- how did he get old enough to go for a full week?

Breakfast in the hotel in Nancheng. Stella loved the steamed egg. I will need to learn how to make it. Sam ate lots of things- he really enjoyed the sausage. I stuck to tea and toast, and the steamed eggs.

Leavin Nanchang

Our bags are packed, we're ready to go... [ sorry, I have Peter, Paul, and Mary on my mind this morning]
We are leaving Nanchang in a couple of hours, and flying to Guangzhou. Stella is sound asleep in the 'baby car' [stroller] after having a bottle at 5:30, breakfast at 7, and another bottle at 8:30. Since she figured out the whole bottle thing, she loves them. It turned out that we were trying to use the Playtex kind, with the drop-in liners, and she only likes the Vent Aire kind.
We have really loved this town- people are so kind and sweet, and make us feel so at home- I am amazed at the hospitality.
I still have not figured out how to put photos on from this computer, but I am sure that I will get some help soon.
Thank you all for your prayers- it means the world to me.
